Benchtop XRF Models
XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysers, handheld and benchtop

Know exactly what a material is made of — in seconds, without damaging it. Advanced Handheld and benchtop EDXRF instruments from ELVATECH that deliver laboratory-level accuracy in the field and in the lab, helping you identify metals, alloys, scrap, jewellery, soil and other materials in seconds. Elvatech instruments are used by companies worldwide for reliable quality control, positive material identification and compliance testing.
How to Choose type of XRF Analyzers for your Application
Which type suits your work?
Both types give quantitative results. The difference is what each is built to do well.

Benchtop XRF Spectrometers
The work comes to the instrument
A sealed chamber, stable conditions and longer counting times. Better precision, lower detection limits, and repeatable results you can document.
- Choose it if the sample can be carried — small parts, powders, liquids, granules
- Choose it if you are measuring low concentrations or light elements
- Choose it if the item is valuable or delicate and must stay in your hands
- Choose it if the result goes on a document a customer or auditor will read

Handheld XRF Spectrometers
The instrument goes to the work
Battery powered, one hand, a reading every few seconds. Built for volume and for material that cannot be moved.
- Choose it if the material is fixed in place — pipe, tank, vessel, structure
- Choose it if you need to inspect every piece rather than a sample of them
- Choose it if throughput matters — hundreds of readings in a shift
- Choose it if you need to identify an alloy grade against a library, on the spot
How XRF works
The instrument directs X-rays at the sample. Each element in that sample sends energy back at a level unique to it — an elemental fingerprint.
The detector reads those energy levels and reports which elements are present and what percentage of each.
It takes seconds. No cutting, no acid, no damage to the piece. It works on gold, silver, platinum, alloys, ores and many other materials.
The tube emits X-rays
An X-ray tube inside the instrument directs primary radiation at the surface of the sample.
An inner electron is ejected
The energy knocks an electron out of an inner shell of an atom, leaving a vacancy.
An outer electron drops in
An electron from an outer shell fills the gap and releases the surplus energy as a fluorescent X-ray.
The detector reads the energies
That released energy is characteristic of the element. The detector counts each energy, and the software converts the spectrum into a composition.

Warranty & Service
48 Months Warranty
Elvatech instruments are supplied with a 48-month manufacturer warranty covering defects in parts and workmanship. Warranty claims and repairs are carried out by our engineers in Thailand.
Installation & Training
On-site installation and commissioning, performance checked against manufacturer specification before handover. Operator training covers daily measurement, method selection and routine checks — until your team runs the instrument unaided.
Application Support
Support covers the measurement as well as the instrument — method setup for a new material, sample preparation and presentation, and interpretation of unexpected results. Available by telephone, Line and email, or on site where the application requires it.
Preventive Maintenance
One scheduled service visit per year, included throughout the four-year warranty period. Each visit covers chamber and window inspection, detector and tube performance checks, consumable replacement, and a written condition report. From year five, the annual schedule continues under a service
Calibration and Verficiation
Calibration against certified reference materials (CRM), with records issued for your quality system. Verification after any repair, and recalibration when your material or application changes.
Software Updates
Firmware and analysis software are updated as Elvatech releases them, including new calibration libraries and alloy grade tables. Updates are installed and verified by our engineers.
Frequently asked Questions
Yes — XRF analyzers are designed to be operated safely every day, by trained users, without special facilities.
The instrument produces X-rays only during a measurement. Between readings there is no emission at all. The housing is shielded so radiation is contained within the measurement path, and interlocks prevent the instrument from firing unless the sample is correctly in place. Every Elvatech portable analyzer is radiation-tested before it leaves the factory, so operators remain protected even during long working sessions.
Yes. Send us the material and we will measure it on the instrument and return the results, so you can judge the performance against your own work rather than a datasheet.
Accuracy depends on a few things, and the most important is measurement time. Longer measurements give better precision, and acquisition time can be set to suit the task: alloy grade identification takes a couple of seconds, while precise quantitative work rarely needs more than a few minutes.
Accuracy also varies by element. As a general rule, XRF performs better on elements with a higher atomic number. Heavy metals such as lead can be measured down to very low concentrations, while light elements such as aluminium carry a larger measurement error — typically in the range of 0.1 to 0.3 percent.
Because performance depends on your material and the elements you care about, we would rather show you than quote a number. Send us your samples and we will report the accuracy and detection limits achieved on your own material.
